Magenta

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 26 feet (7.9 meters) tall. The wide stem is caramel or magenta, and is covered in thousands of rigid vivid purple spines. It has a curved, bulbous, faded green trunk atop a stumpy clump of waxy, exposed roots. The branches are thick, gnarled and green and are very long and slender.

The wavy-edged, very narrow and elongated leaves are cyan at the bottom and brilliant green with violet zig-zags at the top. They are strong, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is very fast growing, taking 10 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with alternating petals of deep orange and deep orange, with a gold central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 35 curved petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like something putrid.

The caudiciform's skin is nearly impenetrable, the brown flesh is rubbery, and the yellow sap is thin.
