Burgundy Bine

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 41 feet (12.5 meters) and growing as high as 227 feet (69.2 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 11 months for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are flat and wavy.

The fan-like, smooth leaves reach up to 11 inches (28 cm) in length. They are caramel on the edges and bronze at the center, and have ripped edges.

During late spring, the bine produces hundreds of small black flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of tiny seed pods.
