Redtail Grass

This short, red grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The pleated stalks grow in extensive patches that are flexible and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, magenta tail.

During the early winter, it produces lots of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of giant grains.
