Orangevine

This huge fruit tree grows up to 60 feet (18.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 47 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a narrow, wonky trunk covered in fine, ridged, gray bark, and inside, the dense wood is black with white speckles.

The tangled mess of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of miniature, stiff, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in bronze, lime and bold orange varieties.

In early spring, it produces lots of medium-sized, cyan blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like cherry.

In late summer it produces tiny, long, straight fruit. The rubbery blue skin is stretchy and inedible, and the slightly crunchy cream flesh is salty and dry. The black seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
