Turquoise

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 85 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, twisting trunk covered in silky, dark gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is brown.

The small bunches of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of small, very thin leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are solid turquoise with red splotches.

In early spring, it produces lots of small, faded yellow blossoms with 5 crescent-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a soft scent that smells like a woman.

In late summer it produces , wide fruit. The crispy light grey skin is peel-able and inedible, and the slightly crunchy cream flesh is salty and oily. The lime seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
