Orangebell

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 28 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a branched, wonky trunk covered in thick, waxy, light gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is brown.

The small bunches of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of large, sickle shaped leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of burgundy that gradient shifts to orange at the top.

In early spring, it produces thousands of giant, gold blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like coconut.

In early autumn it produces small, long, curved fruit. The smooth bold orange skin is thick and inedible, and the very soft cream flesh is sour and dry. The vibrant yellow seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

The grains are bitter, but very healthy and are suitable for boiling.
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
