Silver Spike

This small cactus grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 5 very narrow, elongated stems. Each stem is silver, and is covered in hundreds of flexible silver spines. The spherical body is copper, and is dotted with small green spines.

It is slow growing, taking 9 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are red on the underside and silver on the top, grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 60 curved petals. It has a powerful scent that smells like cheese.

The cactus's skin is rock-hard, the green flesh is smooth, and the blue sap is thin.
