The needle-like, crispy leaves reach up to 3 inches (8 cm) in length. They are grey with black tips, and have smooth edges.
During late spring, the vine produces hundreds of tiny amber flowers, and during the mid-summer, after flowering, it produces a modest amount of tiny fruits.
