Emberthorn Cactus

This short cactus grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in brittle black spines. The spherical body is emerald, and is covered in thick sheets of rigid red spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 24 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are aquamarine on the edges and peach at the center, grow at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 42 raised, narrow petals. It has a soft scent that smells like skunk spray.

The cactus's skin is thin, the violet flesh is soft, and the purple sap is thin.
