Cyan Petal Creeper

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stem is very thick, and the giant, green leaves are stiff, pointed with ripped edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

5 to 10 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with petals that are cyan in the center, sky blue in the middle and silver at the edges. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of several widely spaced, narrow petals. They are hardy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like cinnamon, and it has excessive amounts of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
