Amberleaf Cubeflower

This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its amber stem is very thick, and the tiny, moss green leaves are thick with irregular edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Hundreds of tiny flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with petals that are green at the sides and purple at the center. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of several tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has an intense scent that smells like burning wood, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.
