Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This small cactus grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 3 thick stems. Each stem is silver, and is dotted with small orange spines.
It is fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with pink petals and a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a star made up of 7 raised, narrow petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like old books.
The cactus's skin is tough, the yellow flesh is rubbery, and the brown sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
