Crimson Tree

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 323 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, wonky trunk covered in silky, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is white.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of sticky, huge, slender, pointed leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are blood red on the edges and crimson at the center.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of medium-sized, caramel blossoms with fan-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like alcohol.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, olive, shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
