Turquoise

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 189 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has many flexible, twisting stems covered in fine, knobbly, dark green bark, and the wood inside is pine-coloured.

The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of small, long, narrow, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid turquoise with crimson edges, sturdy and clammy.

It produces lots of small, orange flowers with wide petals. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like rotten egg. In early summer it forms largeolive, shelled seeds.


It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
