Slate Moss

This slate moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas In damp forests.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is very resistant; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores.
