Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.6 feet (48 cm) tall. Its aquamarine stem is very thin, and the miniature, lime green and caramel leaves are very thin with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Many small flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with purple petals that gradient shift to dark orange on the outer edge. The central disk is magenta. The flower head is made up of 30 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They are sturdy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like soap, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.

It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
