Golden Moss

This dark yellow moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In damp forests, In rainy mountain ranges, and In marshes.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is slightly light.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
