Red-Blue Clinger

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is very thick, and the miniature, moss green leaves are finger-like with rounded edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Many medium-sized flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with petals that are intense red on the edges and vibrant blue at the center. The flower head is made up of 60 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight dish. They detach easily.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like roses, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to butterflies.
