Magenta

Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 170 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several flexible, wavy stems covered in waxy, yellow-brown bark, and the wood inside is yellow.

The branches are very short and thick with dozens of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of large, circular, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are magenta at the bottom and blood red with silver edges at the top, strong and soft.

It produces a thick sheet of giant, indigo flowers with 7 oblong shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a soft scent that smells like skunk spray. In early autumn it forms giantbrown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

All parts of the flower are edible.
It is suitable for making strong rope
The trunk and branches are covered in large spikes.
