Magenta

This short caudiciform grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is magenta or blood red, and is covered in brittle gentle green spines. The very thick, intense orange trunk can grow to as much as 9 feet (2.7 meters) in diameter. Its copper branches are short and thin.

The serrated-edged, very narrow and elongated leaves are deep green and green. They are hardy, and do not detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid intense red petals decorated with deep green lines and a caramel central disk grows at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is made up of 10 petals in raised layers. It has the faintest scent that smells like a damp log.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the turquoise flesh is rubbery, and the bronze sap is thin.
