Violet creeper

This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 40 feet (12.2 meters)0.

It takes 21 months for the gray stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are smooth and fuzzy.

The spear shaped, crispy leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are violet at the bottom and gold with purple splotches at the top, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces large amounts of small blood red flowers, and during the late summer, after flowering, it produces a handful of tiny berries.
