Yellow Sunburst

This small caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The narrow stem is yellow, and is dotted with small brilliant yellow spines. The wonky, brilliant yellow trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter at the top. Its moss green branches trail down towards the ground and start growing three quarters of the way up the stem.

The sparse amounts of toothed-edged, crescent-shaped leaves are either light grey, or crimson with intense yellow patches. They are delicate, and detach easily.

It is fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with brown petals that gradient shift to cream on the outer edge. The central disk is bronze, grow at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is largely flat with 39 widely spaced narrow petals. It has a weak scent that smells like freshly baked bread.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the blue flesh is smooth, and the peach sap is thin.
