Azurebell

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 65 feet (19.8 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is azure, and is dotted with small silver spines. It has a straight, flat, yellow trunk atop a narrow block of knobbly, exposed roots. The branches are thick and green and are very short and thick.

The irregular-edged, fan-like leaves are generally grey. They are delicate, and detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with brown petals that gradient shift to cream on the outer edge. The central disk is bronze, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with many tightly layered round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like ashes.

The caudiciform's skin is tough, the florescent orange flesh is leathery, and the faded red sap is thin and can kill if consumed.

Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
