Orangeberry

This short fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 69 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, wonky trunk covered in thick, smooth, brown bark, and inside, the light wood is yellow.

The excessive amount of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of small, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either olive, or cream with turquoise lines.

In early spring, it produces thousands of large, peach blossoms with circular shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like cheese.

In mid-summer it produces small, spear-shaped fruit. The waxy orange skin is stretchy and sweet and spicy, and the soft cream flesh is bland and dry. The dark yellow seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
