Caramel Moss

This caramel moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In rainforests, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly resilient.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release millions of spores.

It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
The stems are covered in large spikes.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
