Gray-green Moss

This gray-green moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On rotten logs, In heathlands, and In damp forests.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is very delicate.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release millions of spores.
