Burgundy Tree

This average-sized tree grows up to 8 meters (26.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 466 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, twisting trunk covered in fine, rough, brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pine-coloured.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with very large amounts of leathery, large, circular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of burgundy that gradient shifts to bronze at the top.

In late summer it forms tiny, gold, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
