Redstem Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)

This short, red grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The thick stalks grow in extensive patches that are prone to bending and snapping under stress.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, hazel spikelet.

During the late autumn, it produces a modest amount of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of small grains.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It commonly grows in large patches.
