Rainy Day Shrub

This giant shrub grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 111 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many flexible, straight stems covered in hard, rough, burgundy and brown bark, and the wood inside is pine-coloured.

The branches trail down across the ground that and are covered with very large amounts of small, very narrow and elongated, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are either silver, or beige with light orange edges, durable and soft.

It produces dozens of giant, beige flowers with slender, pointed petals. They are very delicate and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like rainy days. In mid-summer it forms medium-sizedamber aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
