Sapphire Willow

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 193 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has many knobbly, curved stems covered in paper-thin, rough, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of small, broad, flat, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are gold and red, hardy and covered in fine hairs.

In early summer it produces many giant, azure flowers with 4 teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like fruity.
