Aqualignum

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 253 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a slender, slanted trunk covered in smooth, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is black.

The sparse amount of branches are very long and thick and are covered with handfuls of rough, miniature, thin leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are cyan at the bottom and black with silver patches at the top.

In late summer it forms large, subtle yellow, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
