Bluebell

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short caudiciform grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The very thin stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid light brown spines. The bulbous, hazel trunk can grow to as much as 7 feet (2.1 meters) in diameter. Its brown branches trail down across the ground.

The jagged-edged, needle-like leaves are solid blue with azure zig-zags. They are frail, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are brown at the sides and yellow at the center grows at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 26 tightly layered round-tipped petals. It has the faintest scent that smells like cheese.

The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the silver flesh is rough, and the lilac sap is thin.

It coexists peacefully with other plants.
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
