Orangebell Bush

This large shrub grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 194 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of very thick, curved stems covered in cracked, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches trail down across the ground that and are covered with large amounts of small, finger-like, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are amber on the sides and vibrant orange at the center, flexible and leathery.

In late summer it produces hundreds of large, florescent blue blossoms with wide petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like roses.

In mid-autumn tiny oval fruits ripen. The fuzzy dark grey skin is peel-able and inedible, and the soft amber flesh is very sour and juicy. The bold orange seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.
