Bloodvine

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.9 feet (58 cm) tall. Its silver stems grow in bunches of 3 and are wispy with a curved tip, and the tiny, bronze leaves are white on the underside and are circular with ripped edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 39 cm (15.4 inches) wide, with petals that are yellow on the underside and blood red on the top. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They are sturdy.

It has the faintest scent that smells like fresh linen, and it has very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
