Peach Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 19 feet (5.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 62 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the soft wood is white with black speckles.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with handfuls of giant, stiff, pointed leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are peach on the edges and slate at the center.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of tiny, amber blossoms with 6 shield-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a soft scent that smells like grass cuttings.

In late summer it produces small, finger-like fruit. The clammy red skin is thick and edible when roasted; it is extremely salty, and the soft silver flesh is bitter and sour and sticky. The crimson seeds are tiny and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
