Purple Flame Succulent

This short leaf succulent grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is gray-green, and is covered in brittle brown spines. The rounded leaves are deep purple on the sides and washed-out red at the center. Small amounts of them grow on slender, gray branches that trail down across the ground. The leaves are rigid, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is very fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with alternating petals of indigo and crimson, with a turquoise central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 20 curved petals. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like candle wax.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the turquoise flesh is waxy, and the cyan sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
