Clinging Amberbell

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 48 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous long and flexible, crooked stems covered in delicate, smooth, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches are short stubs with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of tiny, long, tapering, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are florescent yellow on the edges and sky blue at the center, light and waxy.

In mid-summer it produces many bunches of giant, amber flowers with many layers of petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a soft scent that smells like candle wax.


It is suitable for use as a construction material
The sap causes itchiness of the skin
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
