Bronzeberry

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 80 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is pale yellow.

The abundance of branches are very short and slender and are covered with copious amounts of small, sickle shaped leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are light brown with bronze tips.

In early spring, it produces clusters of medium-sized, brown blossoms with many layers of petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like mint.

In mid-summer it produces tiny, cuboid fruit. The smooth beige skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy lilac flesh is salty and very dry. The light brown seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
