Aquamarineberry

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 54 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in delicate, silky, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the soft wood is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with small amounts of miniature, circular leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in sky blue and green varieties.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, black blossoms with 8 V-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like sugar.

In early winter it produces small, pleated fruit. The waxy dark grey skin is peel-able and inedible, and the soft aquamarine flesh is savoury and very dry. The subtle orange seeds are large and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
