Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In moorlands, and In bogs.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly resilient.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores.
