Blackvine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 28 feet (8.5 meters)0. It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 2 years for the green stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm) and are tough and woody.

The perforated, clammy leaves reach up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) in length. They are black and gold, and have irregular edges.

During late spring, the bine produces many clusters of average magenta flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces excessive amounts of very large seed pods.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
