Crimson Succulent

This average-sized cactus grows up to 70 feet (21.3 meters) tall. The wispy stem is yellow-green, and is covered in brittle cream spines. The tear-shaped body is pink-red, and is covered in large amounts of flexible purple spines.

It is fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid azure petals decorated with cream dots and a aquamarine central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 5 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 15 widely spaced narrow petals. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like burning wood.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the black flesh is waxy, and the ashy green sap is thin.
