Burgundyvine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small bine is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 24 feet (7.3 meters) and growing as high as 121 feet (36.9 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 10 months for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are rough and gnarled.

The spear shaped, smooth leaves reach up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length. They are either bright purple or black, with dark brown lines, and have serrated edges.

During late spring, the bine produces copious amounts of average cyan flowers.


It is suitable for making strong rope
It commonly grows in large patches.
