Clinging Amberbloom
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This big shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for around 29 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has many narrow, straight stems covered in paper-thin, ridged, light brown bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.
The branches are very long and thick with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of large, broad, flat, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are yellow on the sides and amber at the center, delicate and fuzzy.
In mid-spring it produces several medium-sized, green blossoms with circular petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like fish.
In early autumn very large oval fruits ripen. The rough magenta skin is tough and spicy, and the slightly crunchy yellow flesh is sweet and dry. The blood red seed is small and is in the centre of the fruit.
It blooms only at night.
