Bronzeberry

This colossal fruit tree grows up to 64 feet (19.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 41 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, slanted trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, light brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is silver.

The tangled mess of branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, pleated leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are bronze on the sides and blue at the center.

In early spring, it produces several tiny, bold red blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like fresh linen.

In early winter it produces small, oval fruit. The sticky brown skin is tough and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the soft bronze flesh is sour and dry. The hazel seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
