Crimson Tree

This huge tree grows up to 99 meters (324.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 263 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a knobbly, twisting trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is white.

The small handful of branches are short stubs and are covered with small bunches of rough, miniature, wide leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in crimson, pale green and brown varieties.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of medium-sized, silver blossoms with asymmetrical petals. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like cinnamon.

In late summer it forms large, gold aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
