Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In heathlands, and On trees.
It is big, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is slightly frail.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.
