Copperbell

Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its copper stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 6 and are very thick and straight, and split into numerous branching stems at the top, and the large, yellow leaves are triangular with toothed edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

6 to 12 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 17 cm (6.7 inches) wide, with green petals on the lower layer and lime petals decorated with gold dots on the inner layer. The central disk is brilliant yellow. The flower head is largely flat with many raised round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like fermented fruit, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by a variety of insects.

It is very resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
