Climbing Silkvine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 28 feet (8.5 meters) and growing as high as 670 feet (204.2 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 5 years for the brown stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and remain soft and fleshy.

The finger-like, fuzzy leaves reach up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) in length. They are solid bronze with cream patches, and have ripped edges.

During late spring, the bine produces many bunches of tiny vivid red flowers, and during the early summer, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of large berries.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
