This moss green moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In heathlands.
It is colossal, growing up to 1.6 feet (48 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is overwhelmingly delicate; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald triangular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores.

It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
